Kara Johnston Promoted to Manager
We are pleased to announce that Kara Johnston has earned the promotion to Manager within the Assurance Division.
Kara has been a vital, invaluable resource for the completion of firm audit work and has proactively taken advantage of the opportunities to learn and lead that have been available to her. Kara has become an expert in the audit data mining software IDEA, that we have, and her expertise is largely a result of independent study and trial and error within the system to improve her knowledge of the software. She has shown flexibility in the types of jobs she has worked on, from corporate audits across various industries, to nonprofit audits and employee benefit plan audits. In doing so, she has built a good rapport with both clients and Assurance/audit staff. Kara has also been a member of the lease implementation team, working alongside Kim and Karen, assisting clients with updated lease data for financial statement disclosure.
Aside from technical areas, Kara has also shown her dedication to the firm by being a critical member of the college recruiting team as well as her tenure on the Social Committee.
Kara joined Walz Group in June 2021 as a Staff Accountant on the Assurance team. She is a 2021 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance, with a minor in Physics.
